Tennessee Society for Respiratory Care

News all Tennessee Respiratory Therapists should know:

The State Board of Respiratory Care is going to begin to enforce a law that is already in effect.  All therapists will be required to maintain the active status of their credentials with the NBRC to be ABG endorsed.  This is not a change to our Licensure Laws, rather something that has not been checked in the past.  It appears that this will have the greatest effect on therapists obtaining their license after July 1, 2002.  Anyone who has applied for a license after that date will be required to participate in the NBRC's Continuing Competency Program in order to be ABG endorsed.  Therapists who obtained their license and credentials before July 1, 2002 will not have to participate in the NBRC's Continuing Competency Program in order to maintain their NBRC credentials.  Everyone should continue to check this portion of the website to keep up to date on any changes, also direct your friends and coworkers where this info is.
